PATIO Campus presents the 14 startups that will be part of the “Circular Economy” program

PATIO Innovation & Startup Campus, a leading ecosystem in innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability announced yesterday the 14 startups that will participate in its program “Circular Economy”, launched in collaboration with its founding corporations: BMW Group Spain, Iberia, Inditex, L'Oréal Group, Mahou San Miguel, Moeve (formerly Cepsa) and Pascual. With the intention of promote innovation, sustainability and collaboration to achieve a positive impact on society, This is the first time in our country that there has been a cross-sectoral alliance around environmental sustainability and the circular economy in which large companies join startups to promote common solutions.
The 14 startups selected to accelerate their impact
- Meep: its digital mobility solutions help companies comply with sustainability regulations, optimize mobility and reduce costs, while improving the employee experience.
- CoCircular: has developed a Saas (360º advisor) technology that allows 100% digitalized and traceable circular waste management to its customers, ensuring compliance with the new Waste Law, which requires the recovery of more than 70% of waste, currently reaching 91%.
- Gravity Wave: a startup dedicated to cleaning plastic from the sea with 7,000 traditional fishermen in Greece, Italy, Spain and Egypt. Gravity Wave recycles waste in different recycling plants and transforms it into plates and raw materials for different industries.
- Lumio: they are the only sustainable energy platform that allows the installation, consumption and sharing of renewable energy. Its platform allows us to have all sustainable energy management in one place, from installation to consumption and sharing of this energy among supplies that are unable to carry out a self-consumption installation.
- If Returns: has developed a platform to efficiently manage returns in e-commerce. It offers retailers a cost-effective and sustainable approach, reducing costs and waste.
- Hoop Carpool: is the leading shared mobility company that optimizes vehicle occupancy and saves users time, money and emissions. It connects people who commute daily to the same places so that they can carpool with each other.
- REVIVACK CIRCULAR ECONOMY: promotes the Circular Economy by helping producers plan and manage the recovery of their disused products through an agile, transparent and traceable system, providing benefits for all the actors involved.
- Vaayu Tech: the world's first automated software created to help retailers calculate and reduce impact in real time. Vaayu, which uses artificial intelligence and a certified methodology to visualize conflict points, allows both companies and their customers to make more sustainable decisions by improving resource efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
- FINDS: digital gateway to the global B2B market for off-price products. FINDS brings together key players, best practices and the most advanced technology to streamline stock liquidation operations and expand file sales and surplus trading.
- Hydrocarbon Engineering: thanks to the hydrogenation of CO2 or carbonaceous waste, based on the free radical of hydrogen extracted from water in a clean and emission-free catalytic thermolysis process, net-zero fuels are obtained. The key to your project: it's affordable and it's scalable.
- Miogas: helps families and businesses to locally transform their organic waste into biogas and fertilizer. This way, users save on gas/electricity bills and waste management costs while reducing their carbon footprint.
- Spouted Beds Solutions: they transform complex plastic waste and capture CO2 with their advanced HECO technology, promoting the circular economy and reducing environmental impact.
- AGROLINERA ASTUR: its technology allows traditional livestock communities to grow and maintain the rural population without the management of their waste affecting their sustainability. Agrolinera Astur digitizes the collection process to make it possible for slurry and whey to be economically transported to produce biomethane or to be introduced into other value chains.
- TropicStream: develops functional flour rich in prebiotic fiber from beer grains used through innovative biotechnological processing to create healthy, sustainable and natural food ingredients. Its solution is a high-quality, food-grade ingredient that increases the nutritional value of food products by increasing protein content and reducing crude fiber.
El startup selection process was carried out through a public open-call, to which 392 have been registered startups. All of them have been through a automatic scoring process, after which 188 have gone through an evaluation phase carried out by experts in innovation and entrepreneurship, 37 have reached a final phase of direct speed-dating with the seven corporations, and 14 startups have been selected as finalists and participants in the program.
The team of evaluators who have collaborated with PATIO Campus to compose this selection are recognized professionals such as Darío Mendez (El Tenedor, Seedrocket), Javier Megias (Plug & Play, RedIt Ventures), Orfeo Balboa (First Drop, NetMentora) or Natalia Ruiz (SC Net Zero Ventures).
Within this program, the selected startups will be able to create synergies with the corporations that have launched the initiative, since they lead the design of the program and define the sourcing, screening, reviewing, building and other phases of the program.
